I have been a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Sheffield for more than 17 years.
I have developed a special interest in various types of gynaecological surgery. Over the last 15 years, I have organised a training course for gynaecological surgery in Sheffield every year. The training courses emphasize the importance of microsurgical principles such as gentle tissue handling. I advocate the use of minimal access (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic) surgery whenever possible. Nevertheless I also advocate non-surgical alternatives for various gynaecological conditions before considering a surgical option.
